This is the first year that the Kentucky Alpaca Association is hosting a fiber festival in conjunction with their annual Kentucky Classic Alpaca Show, and we are thrilled to have been invited to the party. As well as offering an variety of fibers and embellishments, we will also be teaching several classes, each one geared towards the absolute beginner.

This 2-part class will be taught by Roo Kline of Moonwood Farm, taking you from raw fleece out of the bag to a carded, sparkly batt ready to sell to handspinners. You'll be learning how to choose which fleeces should go to the mill, and which are suitable for hand processing, how to wash and dye alpaca fiber, as well as how to card it once dry, including the addition of blending fibers and embellishments.

These 1.5 hour mini classes will be taught by Elizabeth Taylor of Spotted Circus, class fee includes a quality spindle (crafted by 7 Yaks Design especially for Alpaca Fiber Solutions) and fiber for you to take home. Choose one time slot:

| Triloom Workshop | $50 | More >> |

Weave a small shawlette with fringing on a 2.5 foot triloom, guided by Roo Kline. You may keep the triloom with you for the duration of the show to finish your project if you did not complete it during the workshop. Class participants receive $15 off any 2.5ft or 5ft loom in the booth.

Denise Coonley will teach you how to felt beautiful and colorful alpaca fiber and silk chiffon scarf. Not only will you walk away with a finished product, you'll walk away with the knowledge and skill to do nuno felting at home on your own. Fiber, silk chiffon scarf and instructions to take home with you will be provided.

We will also be demonstrating spinning on a wheel, drop spinning, triloom weaving, carding. Lots of fiber will be offered for sale as well as firestar and angelina, Unicorn fiber care products, Strauch drum carders, home made trilooms, etc. |
